Does your Dodge 4x4 have that dreaded steering wobble? Do you find yourself just trying to keep it out of the ditch? Our Dodge Steering stabilizer will keep you on the straight and narrow and solve those handling problems...no problem! The top Dodge Steering Stabilizer for your truck! - The reason is simple...a great product at a fair price.
A Dodge steering stabilizer essentially acts as a buffer or shock absorber for your steering box. It mitigates many of the more subtle movements of your steering system, keeping things aligned and keeping the steering wheel steady in your hands. The result is that in the traditionally loose-handling Dodge trucks, your steering will feel considerably more tight, leading to being able to better control your vehicle and get more out of it for whatever job you need your truck for.

HOW TO VERIFY IF YOU HAVE A BORGESON STEERING BOX
The easiest way to distinguish the difference between the factory steering box and the Borgeson steering box is to look at the splined shaft of the box where the steering shaft connects. The Borgeson box has an adapter on the splined input that is held in place by two (2) set screws and locknuts where as the factory steering box does not. The splined shaft on the factory steering box goes directly into the housing. See images below.
The bearing assembly supplied in your Custom Diesel Steering Stabilizer Kit does not press in the bearing housing. It is designed to work in conditions where the bearing and housing may not be completely parallel. When you inspect your bearing assembly, you may notice that the bearing is not sitting square in the housing…this is normal. During installation, you can gently “tap” the bearing while holding the housing. When correctly oriented, the housing will sit flush against the bearing plate after installing it onto the sector nut.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. WHAT IS THE “DEATH WOBBLE”?
A. “DEATH WOBBLE” IS A VIOLENT AND ABRUPT SHAKING OF THE STEERING SYSTEM OF A VEHICLE WHICH THE TIRES RAPIDLY SHAKE, SIDE TO SIDE, UNCONTROLLABLY.
Q. WILL THE CUSTOM DIESEL STEERING STABILIZER BRACE CURE MY DEATH WOBBLE?
A. YES. YOU NEED TO ALSO MAKE SURE THAT ALL OF THE COMPONETS IN YOUR STEERING SYSTEM ARE IN GOOD CONDITION AND FREE OF ANY “PLAY”. Q. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE CUSTOM DIESEL STEERING STABILIZER AND THE FACTORY STEERING DAMPER?
A. THE FACTORY STEERING DAMPER IS OFTEN CONFUSED WITH THE CUSTOM DIESEL STEERING STABILIZER BRACE. THE FACTORY STEERING DAMPER HELPS ISOLATE BUMPSTEER AND KEEPS ALL OF THE IMPERFECTIONS THAT THE STEERING SYSTEM ENCOUNTERS WHILE DRIVING FROM BEING TRANSFERRED BACK TO THE STEERING WHEEL. OUR STEERING STABILIZER BRACE ACTUALLY BOLTS TO THE FRAME RAILS THROUGH THE ANTI-SWAY BAR MOUNTING BOLTS, WHICH TIES BOTH FRAME RAILS AND THE STEERING GEAR BOX ALL TOGETHER.
Q. IS THERE ANY DRILLING OR WELDING TO INSTALLING THE STEERING STABILIZER BRACE?
A. NO. IT IS A BOLT ON DESIGN THAT REQUIRES NO MODIFICATIONS TO THE VEHICLE.
Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL?
A. USUALLY LESS THAN 1 HOUR.
Q. ARE ANY OTHER PARTS REQUIRED?
A. NO. YOUR NEW STABILIZER BRACE WILL COME WITH ALL NECESSARY HARDWARE FOR INSTALLATION.
Q. WILL INSTALLING THE STEERING STABILIZER BRACE VOID MY WARRANTY?
A. NO. WARRANTY WILL NOT BE AFFECTED.
Q. CAN I USE THIS STEERING STABILIZER BRACE IF MY TRUCK HAS A SUSPENSION LIFT ON IT?
A. YES. IF YOUR SUSPENSION LIFT HAS ANTI-SWAY BAR DROP BRACKETS, YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THEM SO THAT THE STABILIZER BRACE CAN MOUNT UP PROPERLY AGAINST THE FRAME. THEN THE DROP BRACKETS CAN BE REINSTALLED BETWEEN OUT STABILIZER BRACE AND THE SWAY BAR MOUNTING BRACKETS.
