If you own a 1994 or newer Dodge Ram 2500/3500, then you’re already aware that the factory steering system is less than desired. As these trucks begin to age, the problems only seem to magnify.  You notice that the truck seems to “wander” while driving and you’re constantly trying to compensate. Then comes the “Death Wobble” and you find yourself in a crazed panic as the steering wheel violently shakes your whole body uncontrollably. The harsh and abrupt movement of the tires transfers all the way through the steering system to you…the driver, and all you can do is try to get the vehicle stopped before an accident occurs. If any of this sounds familiar, then our steering stabilizer brace is your answer. You are basically adding an additional cross-member in the front of your chassis where that Cummins torque monster is twisting the frame and causing the rails to flex and fatigue. Our steering stabilizer brace is made of 1/4” premium grade steel tubing to completely eliminate frame flex and put some extra integrity back into your truck. Q. WHAT IS THE “DEATH WOBBLE”?

A. “DEATH WOBBLE” IS A VIOLENT AND ABRUPT SHAKING OF THE STEERING SYSTEM OF A VEHICLE WHICH THE TIRES RAPIDLY SHAKE, SIDE TO SIDE, UNCONTROLLABLY.

Q. WILL THE CUSTOM DIESEL STEERING STABILIZER BRACE CURE MY DEATH WOBBLE?

A.  YES. YOU NEED TO ALSO MAKE SURE THAT ALL OF THE COMPONETS IN YOUR STEERING SYSTEM ARE IN GOOD CONDITION AND FREE OF ANY “PLAY”. WHEEL BEARINGS, UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS, TRACK BAR BUSHINGS AND TIE ROD ENDS SHOULD BE THOGOUGHLY INSPECTED AND DON’T FORGET THE FACT THAT THE STEERING BOX ITSELF CAN WEAR AND DEVELOP EXCESSIVE “PLAY” INTERNALL

Q.  WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE CUSTOM DIESEL STEERING STABILIZER AND THE FACTORY STEERING DAMPER?

A.  THE FACTORY STEERING DAMPER IS OFTEN CONFUSED WITH THE CUSTOM DIESEL STEERING STABILIZER BRACE. THE FACTORY STEERING DAMPER HELPS ISOLATE BUMPSTEER AND KEEPS ALL OF THE IMPERFECTIONS THAT THE STEERING SYSTEM ENCOUNTERS WHILE DRIVING FROM BEING TRANSFERRED BACK TO THE STEERING WHEEL. OUR STEERING STABILIZER BRACE ACTUALLY BOLTS TO THE FRAME RAILS THROUGH THE ANTI-SWAY BAR MOUNTING BOLTS, WHICH TIES BOTH FRAME RAILS AND THE STEERING GEAR BOX ALL TOGETHER.

Q. IS THERE ANY DRILLING OR WELDING TO INSTALLING THE STEERING STABILIZER BRACE?

A.  NO. IT IS A BOLT ON DESIGN THAT REQUIRES NO MODIFICATIONS TO THE VEHICLE.

Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL?

A.  USUALLY LESS THAN 1 HOUR.

Q. ARE ANY OTHER PARTS REQUIRED?

A.  NO. YOUR NEW STABILIZER BRACE WILL COME WITH ALL NECESSARY HARDWARE FOR INSTALLATION.

Q. WILL INSTALLING THE STEERING STABILIZER BRACE VOID MY WARRANTY?

A.  NO. WARRANTY WILL NOT BE AFFECTED.

Q. CAN I USE THIS STEERING STABILIZER BRACE IF MY TRUCK HAS A SUSPENSION LIFT ON IT?

A.  YES. IF YOUR SUSPENSION LIFT HAS ANTI-SWAY BAR DROP BRACKETS, YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THEM SO THAT THE STABILIZER BRACE CAN MOUNT UP PROPERLY AGAINST THE FRAME.  THEN THE DROP BRACKETS CAN BE REINSTALLED BETWEEN OUT STABILIZER BRACE AND THE SWAY BAR MOUNTING BRACKETS.
